Mathematics Teacher, Stoughton High School, Stoughton Public Schools, Massachusetts, September 2006 – June 2016

  • Taught Geometry, Algebra II, and test preparation classes across a variety of levels.
  • Provided additional individual support to students before, during, and after school.
  • Collaborated regularly with department members to create/revise, administer, and analyze assessments for the purpose of improving curriculum and instruction.
  • Participated in revision of district secondary mathematics curricula to incorporate the Common Core and Massachusetts State Curriculum Standards.
  • Contributed to the school community by serving at various times on the faculty council, the school council, and the Core Values and Beliefs Committee (as part of the school’s accreditation process).

Mentor, Step-Up to Excellence Program, Piece Work Partners, Massachusetts, November 2007 – June 2015

  • Provided regular academic motivation and emotional support for two different students during their sophomore through senior years of high school (2007-2010 and 2012-2015).

  • Taught upper level math classes to Asian-American students.

  • Conducted a survey regarding Teaching Mathematics with Technology courses at post-secondary institutions across the US.
  • Researched university websites and sorted through responses to compile list of appropriate and willing participants.
  • Analyzed data gathered from completed surveys.

Writing Fellow, Writing Fellows Program, BYU College of Undergraduate Education, Utah, September 2002 – April 2005

  • Worked six semesters as a writing tutor for a variety of classes.
  • Read and annotated students’ papers; wrote letters of response; and held individual conferences with each student to discuss suggestions for revision, ways to develop overall writing skills, and the importance of writing.
  • Served as Senior Fellow for four semesters (September 2003 through April 2005) which involved scheduling and conducting meetings with professor, coordinating logistics of collecting and returning papers, and mentoring new and less-experienced Fellows.
